Grants made Autumn 2023 to Spring 2024
We were pleased to be able to make a further fifteen grants between Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024 to worthwhile causes supporting the community in the Christchurch area
- A grant of £1,000 to GREEN DOOR FAMILIES for their Men Actively Standing Together (MAST) project to support middle aged men in Christchurch (identified by health professionals across the town) with seed funding for a new group in Highcliffe.
- A grant of £3,282.39 to HONEYPOT CHILDREN’S CHARITY to fund the wraparound services for 17 young carers in the Christchurch area, to include a Honeypot residential respite break for six of them.
- A grant of £5,000 to HOME-START WESSEX to fund one to one support to five disadvantaged families with young children who live in the Christchurch area.
- A grant of £3,000 to CHRISTCHURCH BAPTIST CHURCH towards the refurbishing of their kitchens at the rear of the Baptist Church in Bargates which are used to provide a venue for a wide variety of community and support groups.
- A grant of £500 to THE MEMORY BOX FOUNDATION to support the running of their Pathways to Memories Project providing weekly social get-togethers for people over 55 living in the Christchurch area.
- A grant of LIFE EDUCATION WESSEX to fund the purchase of a new laptop for their educator to help in their delivery of their health and wellbeing workshops delivered to school children in Christchurch Schools.
- A grant of £1,200 to WESSEX FLOOD AND WATER RESCUE towards the cost of six new Icom M73 Professional handheld radios to aid communications to support their work in the preservation of life in flood conditions in Christchurch.
- A grant of £2,000 to CHRISTCHURCH CARNIVAL 2024 to provide funding to enable them to run the Christchurch Carnival in 2024 which is a major and successful community event (in turn raising funds for local causes).
- A grant of £5,000 to CHRISTCHURCH DISTRICT SCOUTS as a contribution towards the costs of a planned trip to take 88 Christchurch Scouts to Germany for an international scouting trip in 2025.
- A grant of £2,395 to MUDEFORD PHOENIX GIRLS AND LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB for the purchase of a new pair of goals for the club for the ladies / girl’s pitch to give the girls a safe environment to train and play in.
- A grant of £5,000 to CHRISTCHURCH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP to go towards the cost of a weekly Lunch Club to be run for the elderly in Christchurch based in Homelands which helps reduce isolation and with nutrition for the elderly.
- A grant of £2,500 to WATER LILY PROJECT to fund the running of a ‘Thursday Morning Women’s Craft and Community Group’ to provide a safe and nurturing space where the women they help can build meaningful connections.
- A grant of £2,320.47 to AUTISM UNLIMITED to pay for the balance of the kit and equipment needed to complete the fitting out of their new sixth form learning hub in Airfield Way in Christchurch which helps in developing communication and other skills for their students
- We were also pleased to again support the CHRISTCHURCH LIVING ADVENT CALENDAR run by Christchurch Rotary and support three of their event running up to Christmas 2023 and giving grants of £1,000 to each of:
- Julia’s House
- Autism Unlimited
- The Friends of Red House Museum
