Fifteen Grants made between September 2022 and August 2023

We have been delighted to make the following fifteen grants between September 2022 and August 2023:

  • A grant of £2,000 to CHAT CAFÉ LOCAL to undertake a leaflet drop in Christchurch and Highcliffe to promote their café drops-in aimed at promoting social inclusion and combating loneliness following the lockdowns.
  • A grant of £2,850 to HONEYPOT CHILDREN’S CHARITY to provide respite care for young carers in the Christchurch area in the 5 to 12-year-old age group.
  • A grant of £5,000 to HOME-START-WESSEX to provide support and practical help to vulnerable /disadvantaged families in Christchurch with young children with an aim to giving them a better start in life.
  • A grant of £668 to WIN ON WASTE to fund their venue hire sessions at Druitt Hall to continue their work to empower and educate people about waste generation and recycling.
  • Two separate grants of £5,000 each (a total of £10,000) to THE LISTENING EAR to provide one-to-one professional counseling to children and young people in the Christchurch area. Having received a report on the significant work they had carried out with the initial grant and recognising the demand for their work, the trustees invited them to make a further application, which was successful.
  • A grant of £5,000 to DORPIP (Dorset Parent Infant Partnership) to enable them to continue to provide free support sessions in Somerford to help new parents build good relationships with their babies
  • In support of the CHRISTCHURCH ROTARY LIVING ADVENT CALENDAR we supported three sessions and made grants of:
    • £1,000 to the CHRISTCHURCH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
    • £1,000 to SOMERFORD ARC
    • £1,000 to MACMILLAN CARING LOCALLY
  • A grant of £809 to CHRISTCHURCH & HIGHCLIFFE MARIE CURIE to purchase materials to help them in fundraising events
  • A grant of £1,500 to CHRISTCHURCH CARNIVAL to support the running of the August 2023 Carnival
  • A grant of £3,800 to ASTHMA RELIEF to provide the funding for 20 Nebulisers to be available to those in need in the Christchurch area
  • A grant of £2,100 to MOSAIC to provide qualified  bereavement support for children under 18 in Christchurch who are struggling following the death of someone they love
  • A grant of £7,500 to support the hardship fund managed by CHRISTCHURCH MAGDALEN TRUST which provides emergency financial support to individuals through selected Christchurch charities
